at any age!
It's fun, simple, and easy! Come in and check out
our new Glass Fusing Center and fuse away your day!
What is Glass Fusing?
Glass Fusing is
simply the process of stacking two or more layers of glass together to make a design, then placing the stacked glass
in the kiln, where it melts together. It's easy and it's
simple, not to mention fun and creative! Great for adults
and kids. No experience is required and our glass fusing
center can be quickly mastered!
Different Ways of Firing
Tack Fusing - The project
will have slightly rounded, polished edges and a highly textured
surface where each design element remains distinctly raised
above the base. Great project to place in a frame to hang
on your wall.
Full Fusing - The top layer of
glass is completely merged into the bottom layer, creating a
smooth surface and rounded edges. Ideal for trivets,
bowls, or other decorative pieces.
Slumping - Once fused into a
single unit (tack fused or full fused), the project can be
returned to the kiln and slumped over a mold of your choice.
This transforms the flat project into a functional or artistic
three-dimensional piece, such as a bowl, vase, or tray.
